Fragments, my first solo show in Limerick was hosted by Gallery Interlude in the fabulous venue of Lucky Lane, right in the heart of Limerick city. The paintings exhibited were selected from my current practice and it was very exciting to see them in a dynamic and interactive space. I would like to thank Carl Doran, Bella Walsh and Ciaran Nash of Gallery Interlude for the brilliant opportunity to exhibit my work and for all their work and encouragement in making it happen. It was a great night and a big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the opening.

This series of paintings and collages establishes a visual language and emotional response to remnants of memories about place. The work begins with old photographs from past journeys which are used as collage material for postcard explorations in watercolour. These are fragments of compositions which eventually develop into paintings that accommodate an experimentation of colour, form and surface qualities. There is a considered response to materials and subject, with a deep desire to visually communicate internal contemplation and memory of space and place.
